Steenenbrug Chenin Blanc takes its name from the historic Steenenbrug, the first bridge to cross the Eerste River into the town once known as Van der Stel se Bos, the second settlement established in South Africa. Built in 1691 at the foot of the Papegaaiberg, along the route of the old wagon road, the bridge served as the main gateway between Cape Town and Van der Stel se Bos for over 260 years. Carefully restored over time, Steenenbrug still stands true to its original position and alignment, with elements of its original stonework preserved, a lasting symbol of connection, heritage and journey.
Bright and refreshing, this Chenin Blanc opens with inviting aromas of guava, pineapple, and ripe peach, lifted by a hint of citrus zest. The palate is vibrant and fruit-driven, showing layers of crisp apple and tropical fruit balanced by lively acidity.
